Try our Orienteering Course

The statewide organization, Florida Orienteering designed, installed and maintains two permanent courses.
Beginner Course (45-60 minutes)
Intermediate Course (90-100 minutes)

What is Orienteering?

Orienteering is a lifetime fitness sport that challenges the body and mind. It offers the obvious development of individual skills in navigating while problem solving to locate each control.

Decision making is paramount: Should I go left or right? Should I climb that hill or go the long way around it?

Who can benefit from these courses?

Whether you’re an experienced hiker, competitive runner, or just a family or group out for an activity in a park, this sport helps you improve your navigation skills and is great exercise.

Courses hours

Friday through Sunday from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
The course must be completed by 3:00pm so begin early to allow enough time to be out before the gates close.

FEE

The cost is $5 per person.
Maps and compasses are available for purchase at check-in if you choose not to bring your own.
For groups of 10 or more, please call the Museum for group reservations.
